Our methodology

How We Work

The six stages of a Kavida project, what we measure at each one, and what Kavida does not assume. Suitability and comparative advantage are established through site-specific assessment and monitored evidence.

How we work

Assess Thoroughly. Pilot Strategically. Scale with Confidence.

Every landscape is unique. Climate, soils, topography, hydrology, vegetation, groundwater conditions, and land use all influence how water moves, where it is lost, and how it can be most effectively captured, retained, and utilised.

Our assessment-driven methodology identifies site-specific opportunities to improve water-use efficiency, landscape resilience, and long-term productivity before significant investment is made.

1

Assess Existing Conditions

Evaluate rainfall patterns, runoff behaviour, catchment characteristics, soil conditions, topography, drainage networks, groundwater dynamics, vegetation cover, current land use and relevant downstream needs to develop a comprehensive understanding of the site's hydrological and environmental conditions.

2

Identify Water Losses and Opportunities

Analyse evaporation losses, runoff pathways, erosion risks, soil-moisture limitations, water quality and salinity considerations, and opportunities for environmentally appropriate capture, retention, infiltration, storage, and beneficial reuse.

3

Develop Site-Specific Solutions

Design practical and scalable water-retention, runoff-management, Kavida Enhanced Infiltration™, and landscape-regeneration strategies tailored to the site's unique environmental, hydrological, and operational conditions. Concepts seek to retain environmentally appropriate runoff and support productive soil moisture. Solutions may incorporate existing roads, buildings, and other infrastructure as water-harvesting assets where suitable.

4

Implement a Pilot Project

Deploy selected solutions at a manageable scale to validate performance, assess practicality and reduce implementation risk. Where practical, compare the treatment with a matched untreated or conventional control using agreed measurement methods.

5

Monitor, Measure, and Refine

Track runoff, infiltration, soil moisture, water quality, salinity, vegetation response, maintenance and relevant project costs. Evaluate results against agreed objectives and refine the design where the evidence supports it.

6

Scale What Works

Expand implementation only where demonstrated performance, environmental acceptability and customer value support the decision. If the criteria are not met, refine the design or stop rather than assume scale-up.

Our philosophy

Assess First. Pilot Carefully. Measure Rigorously. Scale What Works.

By combining scientific assessment, practical field validation, and evidence-based decision-making, Kavida helps transform water challenges into sustainable opportunities for improved water security, landscape resilience, agricultural productivity, and environmental restoration.

What Kavida does not assume

  • That all evaporation can be prevented
  • That all runoff is available for capture
  • That captured water is automatically potable
  • That one design will perform equally everywhere

What Kavida measures

  • Runoff volumes, infiltration rate and moisture at several depths
  • Water-balance estimate, exposed storage and moisture persistence
  • Water quality, soil salinity and drainage impacts against agreed limits
  • Vegetation establishment, survival and ground cover against the control where appropriate
  • Project economics, including relevant lifecycle costs and useful-water benefit

Who we are

Turning water challenges into sustainable opportunities.

Kavida Arid Solutions Ltd combines engineering expertise with practical environmental solutions to retain more water in the landscape, manage evaporation, improve soil-moisture availability and support greener, more resilient environments.

Our work spans water-retention and storage optimisation, runoff harvesting, infiltration enhancement, civil and environmental engineering, climate resilience, land regeneration, drainage and Three Waters infrastructure.
